Hi, lovely-hearted Shandra 🌸
I have read and appreciated a number of your poems, and It has been a pleasure to spend a little bit of time with you this day, reading and enjoying this soft, sweet essence of imagery shining forth from your tenderly flowing words into my own core.
Rain has so many connotations to the human psyche and spiritual moods that can truly make the world around and within dance to the very notion of its wonders … rain, therefore, is perfect for the perlase (transforming/purging) of the mind's, heart's, and soul's dregs from life's residue, that enables one to start anew.
I love your picture choice, with its beautiful caption, and the imagery with which you begin your first line; though, I think in L2 you mean "Flora has dressed herself...." and L6, make it "Drops falling 'off' the roof. What wondrously enchanting beauty verse one paints within our minds. And, verse two brings us completely into the scene your heart has envisioned with its fauna songs and rhythmic rain melody.
Your poetry is very uniquely You, original in expression and imagery that touches in powerfully memorable ways … thank you ever-so warmly for sharing You, Lady-Poet! ⁓ Richard 🍃
[as I was reading, I thought, I'll bet Shandra would enjoy my little poem, "Explaining to a Leaf"] : )

Solitude is akin to meditation, which refreshes and renews one's mind, spirit, and soul … a purposeful and willing break from humankind's frantically demanding lifestyle that tears down a being … although, too much solitude can turn to loneliness.
Loneliness is an ache, a yearning, and missing of companionship, camaraderie, identification, warmth, touch, and physical, intellectual, and emotional contact with one's fellow human beings, or with one special person … a deep, abiding sense of being sad and alone.
And, without this connection with others or that special one, a person can be lonely, whether in solitude, or in a crowd.
It's true, Shandra, there have been times in my own life when I sought the need to escape into "solitude" … there is a time for all things … for a necessary balancing of one's being, if you will.

well every month i go thru my list of friends and read a piece alas I haven't seen anything new from you so I decided to read the first poem you have listed:) I love the rain too it was the subject of rain that became my first poem:) and like you i compared it to a symphony:) this is a lovely poem but I have to ask about "perlase" was it referring to the name? or were you comparing the beads of rain as pearls? I suppose it doesn't matter both are beautiful images:) I hope you are fairing well Shandra sun smiles
really like what you did with "Flora" ... so clever and fits as gloves ...makes it personal... human ... "Sweet Rain" ..brings rain's sounds, scents, power and cleansing into a moment caught .. standing under the veranda .. seeing, feeling and hearing the whole scene .. well done .. easy language and rhythm .. so enjoyed reading

The sentiment in this is beautiful and simple and refreshing. The freeverse description of the garden in the rain provides a gentility, a softness a freshness and once again I detect that striving for the melody of 'mindfulness'.

Fantastic imagery. This was beautiful.
@maidahl and anyone who is curious; I wasn't sure what Perlase meant either, but I found a definition here.
Thank you Shandra Sun for this write.
