What a conundrum lol. In life, we really just have to choose what we decide; is forgivable or otherwise. Both for others, and in regard to ourselves. Of course it need not necessarily, apply to genuine moral outrages. For some people, they can be very petty; and claim offence at minor infringements (even in regard to relatively trivial matters of etiquette or propriety for example).

I had to read six times and take notes along the way. I was going to forget attempting to comprehend and forgive you for confusing me, but then the light came on and I forgot the reason for needing to forgive.
Seriously, much food for thought. I enjoyed the challenge of following and thinking through. Forgiving is a skill best practiced often and once perfected the ease of its practice allows for the natural progression towards ability forget but not the ability to forgive. Anyway that's where my head is at right now but can be convinced otherwise.
I had never really considered the question until reading this. After thinking about it for a while I'm not sure I forgive or forget. I believe I just set things in the back and learn and move on. Things that may need forgiving are toe stubbers that must be avoided in the future for me. I'm not sure that's good or bad either.

I've always personally found the forget a little misplaced in that saying. As you stated, it's not really forgiving if you forget what it is you're forgiving someone for or if you simply forget to forgive them. There may not be any hard feelings anymore, but there hasn't been true forgiveness. There have been times in my life where I had to wake up every morning an consciously choose to continue forgiving someone. Eventually, it got to the point where I didn't have to think about it that much anymore and in a way that's probably forgetting, but I never truly get to the point of not really remembering. Of course, maybe I've just been misunderstanding the whole time and you're just supposed to forget your strong feelings, that would make a lot more sense to me.
Editing to add: the formatting just popped up on this for me, guess my page was loading slow. I really like it. It's not crazy and over the top, but it's different.

I have been thinking about the concept of forgiving and forgetting because it is something we do in everyday life, all the time. And as you stated, it never goes away. We can either forgive, but to forget is harder and it happens rarely when something hurts us deeply.
