Sacred Vow

Sacred Vow

A Poem by GraceKelly1974

Sacred Vow

Drowning in emotion

Confusion suffocates me

Breathless in reminiscence

Of the way life used to be

Missing chapters past

And Characters that have faded

If life were like a book

We could review what then was jaded

Longing for serenity

That once was part of history

Fearing the impending

For it is such a mystery

Can we retreat?

And abandon the now?

Or are we bound by our decisions,

Cannot break the sacred vow?
