"

Karen fighting her way through

"
"1,2,3 you are no longer in this world Karen, go back to that happy place. Forget the past, forget the pain and the sleepless nights. Slip into your most wonderful world. Let it go Karen" whispered Dr.Cassler. I found out I had breast cancer 2 years ago, when I thought I was invincible, queen of the world, my pride was snatched from me.As I lie here sinking into the soft  sapphire water, sinking into this warmth this endearing warmth... "Karen wake up it's time for school" said mother with a heaviness in her voice "NO mommy, I want to stay- mommy what's wrong"  I said as tears spilled from her eyes.Running down the stairs to see if daddy will know anything instead I seen my father crying at the table. "Daddy what's wrong?". With no answer he just stared blankly at me. I thought to myself "Why are the ignoring me ?" Don't they see me"... "Karen. Karen!?!! KAREN!" Quickly my eyes flung open to see myself still in the comfort of the luscious water, "I rather be here than wherever I was" I said to myself. "For some reason I feel so tired I don't think I want to fight this fight anymore, I'm exhausted." My eyes fighting to stay open shut abruptly..."Karen c'mon honey everything will  be okay. You're a fighter I know you can do it" "No, Luke I'm fine nothing's wrong" I said. "Karen can you hear me?!" What is it with everybody are they okay in the head? "LUKE. I. AM.FINE."  "Karen I love you very much" "Love you too.".... "We almost lost her there guys, keep an eye on her 24/7"... The water is not warm anymore. I'm afraid the once welcoming water now has a dark, lonely, cold presence to it "What's going on? Why can't I see? Where's the light? Why is it so cold ? Where am I?"...  To all Cancer fighters who have lost this difficult battle. Much respect and love to the families.
