A Shadow in the MistA Poem by Nicholas DuboeA love like poem I feel with a pretty funny ending.A Shadow in the Mist A dense fog fell to the street, the moon faded from sight, all I could see was my feet, and a vague glow from a light. Yet another figure had come into view, a shadow out there in the mist, I felt in my heart it must be you, the love that I had missed. I moved so quickly, a haste in my stride, With thoughts of long kisses and small talks, I shut my eyes tight, held my arms out wide, Then realized I just hugged a mailbox. … Damn it … © 2017 Nicholas DuboeAuthor's Note
