![]() Even If Dreams Come TrueA Poem by Nicholas Duboe![]() The 3rd poem in what I like to call the "If I Could." series. I hope you like it! This one is on the concept of discovering what dreams are made of.![]() Even If Dreams Come True If I could discover what dreams we're made of, I'd conjure them up every day, I'd make the very wildest come true, And create life in my own way. I'd stop sleeping and build a lab in my basement, with beakers and test tubes galore, and chemical versions of happiness and love, would fill up all of my drawers. Perhaps they would call me The Dream Catcher, as they watched me in a curious gaze, combining all of the elements of dreams, and leaving them all in a daze. But one day I'd run out of dreams to dream, and I'd have no hopes for tomorrow, I'd lose my passion to live and aspire, and with everything, live in sorrow. Then when I'm left nothing else to do, I'd begin to breakdown and cry, and realize that even if dreams come true, they mean nothing if you didn't try. © 2017 Nicholas Duboe
