Exotic Love

Exotic Love

A Poem by WordNerd
"

Love isn't a decision. It's a feeling. If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but much less magical.

"
Scarlet eyes whisper through my mortal heart

Creatures coldly burn our bond apart

Your soul heavenly grows at night

His eerie touch fears the sunlight

Affection dangerously thirsts for temptation

Immorality propels with devastation

His pale skin softens the morbid whether

Death falls as light as an angelic feather

His fangs beautifully rot my veins

Your hypnotic voice delicately bites with pain

My flesh strangely hungers with desire

Tasting the love of a Vampire

Nice piece. I myself like writing about vamps, even if I hate Twilight with a burning passion. This describes old fashioned vampires though, the good old ones I have in my stories and not the terrible messed up ones that make no sense that people come up with now a days.....don't get me wrong I don't mean to offend anyone, but I have a right to express my opinion. Anyways, I love the image you included and the details are great for a short piece. Well Done.

I like the strength in your words and the desire of the poem. The poem wasted no words. Just direct and strong description.

Whoever scorned this below is quite wrong. Even though vampires are written countless times, the subject never seems to be trite. It's just that the way vampires are presented nowadays DOES become trite. It takes a genius writer to present vampires in different lights. THAT is what makes them even more alluring.

Personally, I love this. I can't tell you a thousand times over how much I admire it. It's hard to write about vampires sometimes. You really nailed it. I don't think many people could pull it off without failing somewhere. But you really seem to have control of your subject without letting it fall into that trite category.
You've got me hooked! Definitely a fave.
