The thing in the mirror.

The thing in the mirror.

A Poem by Mimi

What is that thing in the mirror?

That couldn't possibly be me standing there.

She's fat, she's ugly; she's not right.

Look at the way she twitches in the light.

She's a monster; she must go.

I bend over the toilet and force the bile to flow.

I gag and I heave.

I collapse and I cry.

I just want to die.

I feel so ugly,

All because of the fat beast within me.

I get up and look at it; the thing looks back, staring.

It mocks me as I begin glaring.

I look down at my ribs; they stick out so much.

My skin is so thin to the touch.

I look so pale,

My bones are frail.

Without a sound,

I fall to the ground.

With a soft, weak sigh,

I lay there, waiting to die.

You gave life to this photo. This is a truly sad emotional piece.
It's hard to read.

A powerful and scary poem. To see into a mirror and hate the image. Life is a fair journey for the most of us. We must overcome a lot to reach our destination. Poem is well written and tells a common story. We see perfection on TV and media. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. A excellent poem.

Dear Mimi,

Excellent poem with a wonderful message. A look into the horror of those with an eating disorder. This is very well executed.

Now, everyone with this problem, pick yourself up. Have something to eat. You need to learn that you will be much better and healthier when you learn to eat.

My best wishes to you,

Rick

Bug you are beautiful...so you should see that when you look in the mirror. You should see the beautiful, funny, sweet girl we all know and love. And if that mirror is still lying to you, flip it off, give it the attitude that I'm sure you have...and know that you are beautiful and that the mirror is horribly wrong.
I love you Bug
