Insanity.

Insanity.

A Poem by Mimi
"

A day inside my mind.

"

I sit in a dark, empty room, tied up by my own thoughts

Drip

Drip

Drip

The only sound is water falling from a nearby pipe in quick drops

Drip

Drip

Drip

The sound of it burrowing its way into my brain

Drip

Drip

Drip

I let out a cry for help, but no one comes; its driving me insane

Drip

Drip

Drip

I scream louder and louder, thrashing about

Help!

Drip

Help!

Drip

Drip

I can't take this anymore I have to get out

Drip

Drip

BANG!

(Long Pause)

The dripping had stopped as soon as I was dead,

For the sound of the dripping was all in my head.

Bug this is truly amazing...true it is a tad bit depressing, especially because it came from you and that just makes me want to hug you and never let go...but it is really good hun.

Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately I can relate to this all too well. I enjoy the way it was written and well there's not always happy endings but I get feeling the emotions you shared with us. A cry (or in this case a scream) for help can go only go so far. It is almost a necessity to have somebody to turn and talk to. Whether it be a family member, friend, or a complete stranger. When all else fails or you want to express it your own unique way, there is writing. Something I wish I found much earlier in my life because I was completely lost before. I like your unique writing style and appreciate you sharing this. I look forward to reading and reviewing more of your writing, perhaps you would enjoy mine as well. --Broken Soul

The things that drive us crazy. A powerful and scary poem. I didn't like the ending but. Drip Drip Bang. Always a better way to clean the mind. Format and poem was very good.

Ha! It's amazing how stuff gets into our head. I can identify. Not a fan of suicide as a resolution to mental illness. Still, you get big points for creativity. That's an interesting twist at the end for sure! Like the formatting which drives the poem, almost like a drama. Nice work!

Bang indeed. It shoves it self into the readers brain with that bang. Well done

This is intense. I like the suspension caused by the "drip, drip, drip" and the way you broke the repetition with the "BANG!" at the end. Great style and flow. Excellent.

I love this poem. You can feel how insane that person is at the moment. Great Piece[:

Wow I actually LOVE this. Its very familiar to me..the repetitive sound...I hear it sometimes too when no one else hears a ting. and it drives me to feeling insane enough that if I cannot block it out...I can understand the madness.

The fact that DRIP was repeated so many times makes you understand just how insane the person feels. Very nice ending, interesting way to twist it.
