Busy, Busy

Busy, Busy

A Poem by Making Tracks

Washing and ironing

What a to do

Cleaning and drying

And still not through

The kids to dress and get out

I could sit down and cry

And I’m still at a doubt

Whether to wash or dry

Out of the house

Time to go shopping

Getting tea for the spouse

Can’t think of stopping

So tired, so tired, I need to sleep

Instead I think I’ll just sit and weep

Mom

so much inside
hiding to get out
a woman that is so much
more than anyone can see

inside she longs for
her love
her passions
her art
her hungers

a new dress
sets her smiling
perfect three leaf clover
put in pocket
starling swept in winds
goes noticed
a single candle burns
a tear falls

pulling herself to
herself...a door opens
visions snap to
vision...a voice calls

as the day ends
she hears her name

Mom
