Prisoner

Prisoner

A Poem by Making Tracks

Punished again
Staring at four walls
This is my prison
Sat on a bed
This is my punishment
A crime I did not commit
Was judged over me
Now I'm stuck here
And I'm only three
A little girl lost
Innocence unspoken
With walls as guards against me
All alone with no one to talk to
Innocence broken
Stuck here for days
With no one coming
Punished Again!

A three year old's view of a time out? Or is something far worse? Innocence broken....speaks of an abuse that's rather horrific, and I like the piece. Its quiet, but the only thing I could see that would be helpful to flesh out the work would be the description of the room from the child's eyes. Or maybe a description of the one doing the punishment...just a thought.

Overall, well done.
