Thanksgiving 2008

A Poem by Gossamerwings36
"

Something I wrote last year for Thanksgiving.

"

That time of Year once again appears

Where Family and Friends draw to us near

But this should not be but a certain time

Instead, appreciated every moment every time

And Give thanks, and not need to be Remind

We Gather for our Lucious Feasts

Our Eyes they Bulge within our Heads

Our stomachs hum with Great Delight

But we should not only think of Us

But those that struggle with Less Might

Those that have but only Dreams

Those that have lost Faith and cannot See

Be Generous, Be Plenty and not just with Food

But with Thoughts, and Prayers, and acts also Too

Of Course enjoy your savory Sweets and Treats

Your Savory Pies and Plentiful Meats

The Game upon your favorite Set

The Parade with Floats and Santa, you Bet

What would thanksgiving be, if this were not True?

Just don't forget the meaning behind the Words

Sometimes they just become Unheard

As long as we can appreciate All

Then Thanksgiving should be one of the Greatest Events

Of Autumn, of the Fall
