A Lonely Night

A Lonely Night

A Poem by Gossamerwings36
"

Don't we all feel this way, when we are alone in our great big house or our little spot of the earth.

"

A Lonely Night

Sitting in my Chair at Night
A Chill rides up my back
I wonder where it came from
My mind begins to crack
Thoughts of Nightmares
Climb my Spine
Tension Grows beyond Relief
Is it real, or make-believe
Are the Shadows what they Seem?
The thud below the floor boards
The Hiss slipping from my pipes
Shivers, make my Hairs dance
Can it all be in my Mind?
I know it can't be real
Everyone tells me So
But when you are all Alone
It's very hard to Hold
Last night I heard a Tale
That gave me Bad Dreams
Could it have been that Coffee?
I don't know what to Believe.
Please bring back the Day Light
Please give rest to my Mind
Please answer all these Question
That Shadow came Alive !

I love the stable flow you have going on here. This scene reminds me of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," when Marley appeared to Scrooge... feelings of denial, subtle panic, insanity, and possibly a hope for the dawn to come sooner.

Excellently done!

Not grammatically challenged ! Just good poet.

Poetry is a story
That is so good
It does`nt need
Complete sentences

So much for your self criticism. You are good.

I look forward to reading you a lot more.

Please read me, as well.
