The Secrets That Were Killing YouA Poem by Steven GoodykoontzYou are angry at me and I understand You think I backstabbed you But you know that is not how I am
You had secrets that were tearing you apart You thought that you would be safe But those things were poison to your heart
I had to tell to free you from your past You forced my hand when you did not tell Hopefully now, you can be free at last.
I know you are angry and probably sad But I know that we will be friends again This situation is not so bad.
See, my friend, secrets kill You were holding yours in Then the Devil would start to steal.
He would steal your dignity Your self-worth and love Then he would come after your family.
I was only trying to help Nothing more was I trying to do You were spiriling all the way to Hell.
I could see the lost in your eyes You were lost and confused You see, secrets kill lives.
As a friend, a brother in Christ I had to look after my bretheren Even if it meant us being in strife.
You are a great man You are an intellectual You have been a great friend.
You can be mad at me forever But search deep down You must know that I was trying to keep you from Satan's evil endevor.
My friend, I love you I love you no matter what you do Just ask yourself, What Would Jesus Do?
