Platinum War

Platinum War

A Chapter by Steven Goodykoontz

"Agent ‘S’," said Paul with a worried face. "We have a big crisis on our hands. We have lost contact with Agents ‘GD’, and ‘N’. We need you, and ‘T’ to go and find them."

The lights dimmed and the projector shined against the wall. Steven watched as a map of Argentina came upon the wall. A red dot appeared at the city of Rio Cuero.

"This city that the red dot is on," said Paul as he went on, "is where we last came in contact with them. There is platinum mine there. The mine cuts into the mountain. Our satellites have picked up the radio transmitters that Roy put on them. We believe that they are in grave danger and we need your help. You will go to Roy’s lab along with ‘T’, who I already debriefed and it getting ready, to get what you need. This mission is a part of a national and international crisis. The men that we were investigating were Michael Hehe, the leader of the operation, Timothy Luckey, he is the right hand man and Brandon Brenner, and he is the mining expert of the organization. All of the men are extremely dangerous, and the agents have reported to us that they are planning to make a platinum army. Their main weapon is a chemical that the CCC originally ran by Brandon Shepherd. Hehe and his men are using those acids to destroy the armies of the world by melting their metal with the acids, which the platinum are invulnerable to their burning power. We cannot extradite them, because of the laws down there. We have permission from the Argentinean government to go down there and get them back. That is it. Anything else will compromise the United States’ relations with that country. The president backs us, so we cannot be having a war with Argentina, or we will lose our funding. Understood?"

"Yes, sir," replied Steven.

"Good," Paul replied. "Now report to Roy’s lab immediately."

Steven left the room for Roy’s lab.

"Welcome, Agent Steven," said Roy while wheeling out a gun rack. "I have some new equipment for you." Roy picked up a gun and handed it to Steven. The gun was a powerful automatic rifle originally made in Russia. "This gun is called an AK74. This gun was used to compete with the US’s AK47 back during the Cold War. We have purchased it specially from them for experimental use. Please take good care of these." Roy went back to the gun rack and got another gun.

"Agent Steven, this is another gun for you that we have not used in a long time. This is a 50 caliber Desert Eagle. This one will help destroy your enemies."

He went back to the rack and gave him another repel gun and gave it to Steven. He went back and got one more weapon the he has been working on for a while.

"Steven, this is the gun that I have been working on. This gun is what I call a zap gun. This gun is designed to kill your enemies with a 50,000 volts of electricity. Your stealth suit is resistant to the voltage of the gun, so you cannot be hurt by it. This gun uses these cartridges that you recovered from Smelser’s facility, but have been downgraded and sized down to fit the six shooter’ holes in the gun."

Steven took it and analyzed it.

"What a nice gun, Roy," said Steven complementally. "I am sure this gun has been tested, right?"

"Yes, Steven," he replied. "This gun works perfectly."

"Good."

Roy nodded and sent Steven to the dressing room for suit up. There, in the next stall he met the distraught Todd. He walked in and began to try to cheer him up.

"Hey, Todd, how are you?" he asked.

"Man, I, I just hope that my brother is okay. I mean, we were real close throughout our lives and it would hurt me a lot if he got hurt."

"I, too man."

"Thanks for your sympathy, Buddy."

Steven smiled and said, "You’re welcome."

The two men got quickly dressed and went back into Roy’s lab.

"We are ready to go," said Todd.

"Yes, I see that," replied Roy. "Now, you two must report back to Paul for further instructions. Make sure you take your weapons."

The two agents too their weapons and walked to Paul’s office. Upon arriving, they met up with Gilbert.

"Hey, Gilbert!" yelled Steven.

"Hey man!" Gilbert replied.

"We need your backing on this one," said Todd.

"Why?" he asked. He had a confused look in his face.

"Because this is going to be harder than we thought. We need you to go out and be a spotter for us. We need you to go back to Canada, and find out what you can from the acids that Hehe got from Shepherd."

"I cannot compromise your mission. I cannot just simply go there without permission or an order from Paul!" he replied.

"Please, Paul," said Steven. "We have worked together three months ago on destroying Shepherd’s business and saving Dustin. We really need you to go back and talk to the old project managers of that company. You must find what the weakness of this acid is."

Steven handed Gilbert the components of the acid. Then he handed him some money. Gilbert looked at the money, and he did not know what to do with it.

"What is this for?" asked the confused Gilbert.

"This is to bribe the managers. You must find out how to destroy this acid so we can destroy the company as well. Since we cannot destroy the facility that they are in, we can surely destroy the acids themselves. Please, this is of utmost importance to this operation." said Steven.

"I do not even know why I am doing this! I mean, I could get fired for this, but since you helped me out the last time, Steven, I will help you out. I will also get Dustin to come as well."

"Thanks Gilbert!" said Todd.

"You’re welcome," replied Gilbert.

Gilbert walked off to get Dustin. He walked into his office.

"What’s up, Gilbert?" asked Dustin.

"We, are going back to Canada," replied Gilbert.

"For what reason?"

"To find the weakness of this acid that came from CCC."

"How do you plan to do that? We already destroyed the facility."

"We did not kill the product managers, though."

"Right. So how do we bribe them?"

"We will give them $100,000 of American money to bribe them, and hopefully they know how to destroy the compound."

"Where can we find one?"

"I have a contact with the Canadian Mounties that knows how to find one."

"Good."

"We will ship out now."

"Now?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because Steven and Todd are shipping out right today and we need to beat them so that we can give them the components of the chemicals."

"Even if we could, who will put the compounds together, let alone ship it to them?"

"We can have Roy do that, plus, we can have Steven and Todd delay for a day and we can ship it to them, personally."

"Okay," said Dustin shaking Gilbert’s hand.

The two men walked to their cars and drove off.

"You two will report to Kansas City International Airport in Kansas," said Paul. "From there you will get on a plane, which ADOC has already ordered your plane tickets. When you arrive at Buenos Aires, you will be picked up by our contact Revues Sanchez. He will take you to the outside of the mine. You both will infiltrate it and ONLY get the agents out. Anything else, you will compromise our relations, and maybe even ADOC. Understood?"

The agents nodded their head.

"You both will wear suits over those stealth suits," continued Paul. When you infiltrate the complex, make sure you strip down and to your stealth suits."

The agents agreed and walked out of the room and got into their Mercedes and drove off to Kansas.

When Agents Gilbert and Dustin reached Toronto, they got a hotel room and stayed there for a while. They unpacked their belongings and hung out in the lobby. Dustin, later in the middle of the night, after Gilbert went to bed, called his contact. He dialed the number and it rang. When someone answered it up, he told him what is going on.

"Buddy, this is ‘D’," said Dustin.

"Ah! ‘D’, how are you these days?" asked the officer.

"Good, but I need some information," replied Dustin.

"Anything, my good friend."

"I need some information about a former CCC product manager that lives around the Toronto, Ottawa area."

"Who wants to know?"
"ADOC!"

"ADOC, I though you already cleaned up that mess."

"We did, but another related problem has emerged from Argentina."

"What is going on down there?"

"A platinum army is using a special kind of acid that destroys things, but not platinum. This is a related problem, because our field operatives that have been captured uncovered this information from documents found in a man named Hehe’s desk drawer in Rio Cuero."

"Okay, I will tell you a man that knows. His name is Eric Berg. It will not be easy to get to him, he is protected by powerful men in the Canadian government. It will be very hard to get to him and make him crack. You’d be killed if the government found out that information leaked about the CCC incident. This could cause another world war if the leak is found. The best advice that I can give you, is kill him after you are done interrogating him."

"I cannot afford that!"

"In order to get information without getting caught, you must cross the line."

"I will try. Thanks buddy."

"Anytime."

Dustin hung up the phone and went back to the hotel room. He went beside Gilbert’s bed and woke him up.

"What," said Gilbert, half asleep.

"We have to interrogate this man, tonight." replied Dustin.

"Why?"

"Because if we do not, we could create a leak and we could start a war."

"Yes, where is he?"

"He lives in Toronto. His name is Eric Berg. We have to set up a meeting with him in order to get him to crack," said Dustin.

"That is where I come in," he said. "I will call him up, and set up a meeting in Toronto’s Space Needle."

"Good," replied Dustin.

Gilbert went over to the hotel room phone and looked for the name, Eric Berg. He searched throughout the name of Berg, and finally found the right name. It had the phone number 446-8845. Gilbert picked up the phone and dialed the phone. The phone rang and a man answered it.

"Berg here," said Berg.

"I am with the Russian government," said Gilbert with a Russian accent.

"What is your business?"

"I have a proposition for you to help us with the deal of acid."

"Acid? But CCC is closed down."

"Yes, I know, but you still have information about the chemical composition of the acid."

"Why should I tell you?"

"I will pay you $100,000 in American Dollars."

"Deal. Where do we meet at?"

"The Toronto Space Needle, 3:00 a.m."

"Okay, I will meet you there."

Gilbert hung up and got ready.

"So, what happened?" asked Dustin.

"I got the meeting," replied Gilbert.

"Good."

The two men got their guns and walked out to their car.

***

Steven and Todd finally reached Kansas International Airport and was now boarding. They bypassed security by two government officials. The agents went to their first class seats and waited until the plane took off. When the plane finally did, Steven and Todd became less anxious. Todd fell asleep in about thirty minutes of taking off. Steven stayed awake and watched the in air movie. The movie did not satisfy his entertainment, so Steven fell asleep.

When they woke up, about 2:00 a.m. in Buenos Aires. Steven and Todd awoke when the stewardess told them to stay in their seats.

"We must be landing," said Todd.

Steven looked out the window at the lights of the airport.

As the men got off, a dark pigmented man held up the sign ADOC. The two agents walked up to the man.

"I am Revues Sanchez, and I am assigned to pick you up and send you to the mine," he said.

"You must be a very good tour guide," replied Steven.

"Yes, I do that," replied Sanchez. "Just come into my car and I will drive you to the facility."

The men got into the car and buckled up when the car went onto the highway.

***

A car rolled up to the Toronto Space Needle and out came two people, agents Gilbert and Dustin. The two men got out and waited for the production manager come. When they saw some lights flash in the distance, they stood there and had their hands in their pockets. Dustin took out the money. When the car rolled up, and three men got out. The agents got kind of scared.

One guy was the production manager and the other two were body guards. The production manager walked up to Gilbert.

"Where is my money?" asked the production manager.

"Dustin, give him the greenbacks," Gilbert said.

Dustin handed the bills over. The two agents drew their weapons and shot the guards with a sleeper dart and made them faint. The production manager ran towards the car, but Dustin took him by the jacket and slammed him against the side of the Space Needle. The production manager gave out a big umph when he got the wind knocked out of him.

"Tell us how to destroy the effect of the acid!" demanded Gilbert as he had a revolver to his head.

"Okay, Okay, just don’t shoot me! The way to destroy the acid is liquid platinum!" replied the scared man.

"Smart man," said Gilbert. "Is that all?"

"Yes."

"Good."

Dustin shot the man with the sleeper dart and the man fell asleep. The agents got back into their car and went back into their hotel room.

***

"Here you go," said Sanchez.

"Thanks," said Steven.

"Yah, thanks," echoed Todd.

"I will be waiting for you guys when you get back," said Sanchez.

"No, you will not," replied Todd.

Todd then took out his gun and shot the man in the back. Sanchez died.

"Why in the heck you do that for?" yelled Steven.

"He is one of them. Look at his ID card that is in his wallet," explained Todd.

Steven took out Sanchez’s wallet and seen that he was part of the CCC.

"How did you know that?" asked Steven.

"Experience," said Todd.

Suddenly, the Steven’s cell phone rang and he answered it.

"Steven!" said Dustin.

"What have you got for me?" asked Steven.

"We found out that the only thing that can destroy the affect of the acid is liquid platinum!"

"Thanks."

Steven and Todd got out of the car and stripped down into their stealth suit. Steven took out his silenced .45 loaded it. Todd took out a silenced Walther pp9. Then both walked into the mine and skillfully scanned the area from one of the rafter looking over the mine.

The mine had a tank army inside and a take fueling, and worst of all, a Tank fill up dock that fills the tanks with acid. The acid tank was hooked to a nozzle. The nozzle was hooked to a system of tubes the finally ended up into an acid bath. The agents repelled down to the area and searched for their fellow agents.

When they landed, they found themselves outside of a room that was locked. Steven tried to open it, but it was no use. There was an elevator to the left of them. They stealthily walked toward it. When they both got in, Steven pushed the button to go down. As the elevator went down, they could see guards and a few workers in hard hats. The agents made sure that they did not get caught, so they stayed quiet and stayed out of the sight of the guards and workers.

When they hit the bottom, the elevator made a big bang, and it caught the attention of a guard that was behind a bunch of crates. The agents quickly and quietly ran towards a metal box and hid behind it. Steven looked over to the other guards. The other guards were very attentive to the workers than the elevator. Steven pointed is gun and shot the guard in the head with his silenced Colt .45. The guard fell, but nobody heard it.

"Come this way," Todd whispered as he pointed to a stack of metal boxes. Todd stood peering around the corner with his back to the crates. He pointed his weapon towards a guard that was on the rafters and shot him in the head. The guard fell backwards and then that was when the guards heard it. All the guards got their weapons ready and searched the area. Steven and Todd stood in the same place. Suddenly, a guard spotted them and shot his weapon, but missed. Steven shot back, shot the guard in the arm, chest, then the fatal shot to the head. The agents ran for the exit at the end of the room as bullets riddled the ground around them. When they reached the door, the door would not open and they were surrounded by guards.

"Drop your weapons!" yelled one of the guards. The agents followed the order. As the guards came for them to take them away, Steven attacked one of the guards, broke his neck and shot another guard with the dead guard’s gun. Bullets started to fly again and the agents found themselves racing for a stack of crates. When they reached them, Steven drew his electronic six shooter and aimed it at a guard. When he fired the weapon, the electrodes went throughout the room, electrocuting everyone in that room, except for the agents. Steven looked around the corner and saw the dead bodies of the guards.

"They are dead," announced Steven. "Let’s go."

The two agents walked to the door, but it still did not open. So Steven used his repel gun and shoot the split where the doors were connected. The hooks hooked into the slit of the doors, slightly opening them. Todd came over to the doors and spread them apart. The agents ran through the door as the door shut tight behind them.

The two agents walked a little further, when they stepped on a trip wire and the alarm sounded. Guards started to pour in from every sides.

"Put down your weapons!" yelled one of the guards.

The two agents slowly let down their guns. They emptied their pockets of their guns.

"Put your hands to your head!" again yelled the guard

The agents put their hands to their head as two guards grabbed their hands and handcuffed them. The guards walked them off.

When they stopped, they were in a room where Gary and Nathan was.

"Todd!" yelled Nathan. After he yelled out Todd’s name, a guard went by and slapped him on the face.

The guards put Steven and Todd into a chair as three men walked in. One man was medium sized and had jet black spiked hair. This man, everyone knew was Michael Hehe. The second man was short, stubby, and had blonde hair. He had .44 caliber revolver in his hand. This man was Brandon Brenner. The last man that walked in was a big man. Strongly built and also had blonde hair. He had a Desert Eagle in his hand. He was Timothy Luckey.

"Welcome," said Hehe, "I see that you all are quite the sneaks, but fell for the same traps as your counterparts. It seems that ADOC only allows idiots to join their group. I am so happy that you came here to witness you and your friend’s deaths. I am about to deploy my tanks and they will go for the capital."

While Hehe was talking, Gary, a very experience escapist slowly tugged on his hand and got one part of his handcuffs off of his hands.

"Excuse me," said Gary.

"What?" asked Hehe with a smile on his hands.

"I have some news for you."

"What kind of news?"

"You’re dead!"

Hehe had a puzzled look when all of a sudden, Gary got up, picked up his chair and threw it at one of the guards. The guard died. Gary did a summersault on the ground, picked up the SIG 552 and shot the other guards. Hehe, Brenner, but Luckey got shot in the back. Luckey fell forward. Gary shot again and shot him in the head.

"I got him," announced Steven.

Gary got a key from one of the guards and let the other agents free.

"Where do we go now?" asked Todd.

"We go to the base of this facility," said Nathan. "That is where the tanks are being held. We must hijack one and stop Hehe!"

"Agreed," said Steven. "We must go and destroy the rest of the tanks. When the tanks attack Buenos Aires, we can assume that the Argentinean would want his facility destroyed."

The rest of the agents agreed and ran to the elevator and went to the basement. When they got there, they saw Hehe, and Brennor talking.

"After I take over Argentina," Hehe said. "Brazil, Chile, and the rest of south America will follow."

Hehe and Brenner got into different tanks and took the lead of the group to the capital. It was still night time, but day was slowly approaching.

The four agents ran to the back four tanks, opened the hatches and killed the tank man inside and took their guns.

"Let’s go guys!" said Steven into the radio link to the rest of the tanks.

For some reason, all of the tankers said the same thing back. As the four tanks went through the roads towards Buenos Aires. The tanks went in single file and got their guns ready.

When they got to the outer part of the city, Hehe and his men surrounded the city as Argentinean tanks stoop up against them. Hehe and Brenner were the only ones trailing the group, except for the four agents, who were a block away from them. All of the tanks that were surrounding the city, except for Hehe and Brenner were under a highway bridge. The four agents switched to the acid guns and targeted the bridge. They all shot and the bridge’s supports were destroyed and the bridge fell on the tanks and killed them all. Hehe and Brenner turned their turrets around and shot back. He missed.

"How dare you!" yelled Hehe.

"How dare you trying to kill us!" yelled Steven.

"You!"

The four agents targeted Hehe and Brenner and fired. The Hehe and Brenner’s tanks exploded and they were both instantly cooked. After Hehe and Brenner died, Argentinean’s special forces surrounded the tanks.

"Get out, now!" yelled one of the officials.

The four agents got out, and the leader official recognized them.

"At ease!" he yelled. "These men are from ADOC. Welcome agents. Our government will take over from here. We will destroy the acids and the rest of the facility. Thank you for helping us."

"Sir," said Todd, "to destroy the acids, you must put liquid platinum to destroy it."

The leader looked and smiled and said, "Thanks. We have a private helicopter to take you back to ADOC. Argentina, and I are surely pleased that you men were able to help us. Your helicopter should arrive very shortly."

When the helicopter arrived, the president of Argentina met up with the agents.

"Agents of ADOC," said the president. "Thank you for helping us. In return, I present you all with these metals of honor. We will cherish your help forever. Thank you."

"You are welcome," said Gary. "We love and we enjoy your country."

The president smiled as the agents climbed onto the helicopter and went back to ADOC.

***

"Welcome back, agents," said Paul. I see that you have had some help destroying the menace. I just found out that Agents Dustin and Gilbert left this facility, without permission and go on this vendetta of yours!" Paul got a mad face, but then backed off. "This is why, I am going to have to give you, Steven and Todd, a vacation for your wonderful duty. I see that you had a lot of trouble to go through, so that you can save South America."

"So, we are not in trouble?" asked Steven.

"Right, I am rewarding you both with a pay raise, and a one month vacation," replied Paul. "Thanks, agents. By the way, what did you do at that facility?"

"Well, sir," said Steven, "We stopped the Platinum War."

"Right. You are now dismissed."

The two agents walked out, went to separate cars and sped off.

The End.
