It Happens

It Happens

A Poem by Mike Goodwin
"

There's no strangers to love, you know the rules, and so do I.

"
Just remember I'm hazy and stuck in the middle
Persistent persistence isn't persistent like yours
Oh, the holes in my filter
My sifter
Slice a grain of sand in half
Won't fit.
Remove it toss it kick it aside flies up into my eyes
And I cry
I do it all over again quietly filtering and gravity pushes like a familiar sense
Getting tucked into bed by a personified vacuum cleaner
No no no no painful to read
Ouch, you get that one I'm getting crazy at this
Gravity pushes down the sands inside every time
Cause I don't wanna be wasting my time
A familiar feeling is like a familiar smell
It makes my mouth water
And my body want.
