A Song of New Jersey

A Song of New Jersey

A Poem by Josh Shepherd
"

I'm in love with New Jersey. She's my home. She's my lover.

"

Speak to me dear Jersey.
It’s been a long day.
I may have failed and fumble,
And even fallen along as I may;
But your loving songs have been on my mind
all the way.
Your shores seem only greeting
and your forgotten bays seem so alone.
I hear a thousand voices
telling me to come home.

Such a sad feeling being so far away from home.
I use to feel that way about Michigan.
But Oklahoma is my home now.
I travel alot so I understand where you're coming from with this.
Brilliant.
