On Second ThoughtA Poem by John Patrick Robbins AKA GonzoJust a moments write .I cant speak for everyone I still barely speak for myself in the words that play out one faded line at a time . No truths will find innocence sweetheart we have burnt for far to long to see that dream paint are bullshit portrait together. Lost are the hours we spent like old stories told in dark rooms the ghosts hold them true in there isolation only to fade with thoughts as we do from dreams. . Where did it go? Ask me if I truly care . Are lies are a mask for which the truths hide nothing is a phrase all to worn like some tattered dress handed down from one broken soul to the next. I need only the now for the past's view is dim at best. And I care little to repeat my regrets the next rounds on you if you care to bleed as I. For the nights voices speak more in silence and the dark corners hold the most perfect unseen embrace. Why hide your vices amongst the blind for we will simply bullshit about what we truly do not understand . I have grown tired of the night yet simply couldn't stand the day. I have grown tired of the past's act for it's strings have long since become worn. I have grown tired of it all. But never will I cast aside the page. We spoke in half truths only to see them become are futures lies . Nothing can match a perfect delusion like a so called happy ending. It far better to stand alone then walk with misery. See you at the bar. © 2014 John Patrick Robbins AKA Gonzo |
