The Balance of KindnessA Poem by Gregoria Somol AhmedExplores the challenges of being kind and the internal struggle of maintaining peace while dealing with people who take advantage of one's kindness.Sometimes it's hard to be too nice, For people take advantage, not once, but twice. One can stand up, but choose peace instead, Holding their tongue, letting thoughts go unsaid. When kindness meets those who treat others wrong, Feelings turn negative, it doesn't take long. Snapping back to reality, trying to stay sane, As people wear masks, causing hidden pain. To keep the peace, one must move on, But stress builds up when kindness is gone. Wondering if others see the harm they do, Or if their conscience remains askew. In this balance of kindness, one strives to find, A way to be strong, yet gentle and kind. For in the end, it's love that prevails, Through life's ups and downs, it never fails. © 2025 Gregoria Somol AhmedAuthor's Note
