The Weight of WordsA Poem by Gregoria Somol AhmedWriting serves as both a cathartic release and a vulnerable act of self-expression.In the quiet corners of my mind, Energy surges, a force unconfined. Each line I craft, a piece of my soul, Pouring out feelings, making me whole. With every stroke, my heart lays bare, A rawness that lingers, a truth laid there. Words flow like rivers, both tender and strong, A bittersweet melody, a cathartic song. Yet after the storm, when the ink has dried, I find myself weary; emotions untied. The echoes of praise, like soft whispers in air, But judgment can sting, a weight to bear. Still, I hold gratitude for each passing thought, For the beauty in chaos, the lessons I’ve sought. In the tapestry woven of laughter and pain, Each thread is a story, each drop of rain. So here I stand, in the light and the shade, Embracing the journey, the choices I've made. For every comment, both kind and unkind, Shapes the landscape of the heart and the mind. In this dance of expression, I find my release, A heartfelt connection, a moment of peace. So, I’ll keep on writing, letting my spirit ignite, For within every poem, there’s a spark of light.
