Giddy in a disturbed focus

Giddy in a disturbed focus

A Poem by Gregoria Somol Ahmed

In my busy realm where focus thrives,
My thoughts take flight, like buzzing bees’ hives.

Then someone pops in, with a question to throw,
And suddenly, my brain’s lost in a show!

Hey, did you see that?” they casually ask,
And I’m off on a tangent, a curious task.

“Like jellybeans dancing on top of a cat,
While unicorns juggle and squirrels wear a hat!”

I nod and I smile, but inside I’m a mess,
As I spew out nonsense, creating distress.

“Your shirt’s really purple! Or was it a shoe?
I once saw a llama that painted it blue!”

So, if you find me in my focused delight,
Beware of distractions that spark my weird flight.

I might just start rambling, a silly old fool,
In my busy body, mind, and soul's quirky school!

This poem captures the whimsical chaos of distraction beautifully! Your playful imagery, like “jellybeans dancing” and “unicorns juggle,” adds a light-hearted touch that enhances the theme of losing focus. The rhyme and rhythm are consistent, creating a fun and engaging flow

Hey sis,
It makes me to remember one thing, I was so much focused in my own thoughts that I forgotten what I was doing.. suddenly my hod pointed at me and asked me why am laughing (indeed I was smiling thinking about what he said before "all come running here " in tamil elarum odi vanga and to me it was like he digusied in grany and run and come and take the candy, I was smiling 😃 at my own joke) and caught red handed.. not only that I was asked why am staring after am questioned ( can't blame the bulge of eyes in realization)... outside I was questioned, gone wrong with laughing and staring.. but not in my head inside (🙂)

It did bring a smile. You have a nice imagination and a good writing style. Dr. Suess would be envious of you. :)
