In Shadows of Deception

In Shadows of Deception

A Poem by Gregoria Somol Ahmed

In the silence of a fractured home,
Where shadows of deceit are sown,
A mirrored visage, cold and sly,
Reflects a truth in every lie.

Words like daggers, sharp and cruel,
Emotional poison, the golden rule.
In smiles that hide a toxic chill,
A heart that bends but never will.

Envy’s flame in eyes that gleam,
A twisted thread in a fractured dream.
Unspoken truths, a veiled disguise,
A web of lies and empty cries.

Manipulation’s deft embrace,
A subtle dance, a masked face.
Gratitude lost in the void of time,
In the echo of a cruel rhyme.

Narcissism’s relentless call,
A shattered world where shadows fall.
In the heart of every cruel remark,
Lies a wound left cold and stark.

Yet through the storm, a flicker stays,
A strength that grows in endless days.
From the wreckage of deceit and pain,
A resilient spirit will remain.
