Echoes of bitter Legacy

Echoes of bitter Legacy

A Poem by Gregoria Somol Ahmed

In the hushed corridors of loss and grief,
Where shadows twist with tales of deceit,
A heart once strong now bears the weight
Of love corrupted by a cruel fate.

Her coldness sculpted in the dark,
A touch that turned affection stark.
In the void where warmth should lie,
A heart that falters, but never sighs.

She ruled with hands that bound and broke,
In the silent screams, the unspoken yoke.
Where my father’s love was slowly drained,
And in his eyes, the sorrow stained.

Disconnected from kin, estranged and torn,
In the echo of the family scorned.
Her grasp, unyielding, led to fray,
As bonds withered and love decayed.

Now he’s gone, yet the drama spins,
A cycle of blame where it all begins.
The wrath that fueled the bitter strife,
Now curses the children, sharp as a knife.

In her eyes, the past is a shifting shade,
Blame laid bare in every tirade.
Her anger like a storm’s cruel scream,
A shattered family, a fractured dream.

We stand, bewildered, on the edge of pain,
Trying to heal, but in vain.
Her demands, her curses, her cruel decree,
A relentless storm we cannot flee.
