That's what I get for thinking

She Just Can't Help It

as hard as she tries to stop

she always wanders back for more

knowing that her words will temper

his running for the open door

she has no understanding

of how her given thoughts do linger

in the echos of his heart

her promises with twisted finger

as she digs another hole

the perforations like a bullet

it is not what she intended

but she just can't help it
