Had to read it twice to get all its meaning, very well done, simple but very expressive, good use of anaphora creating pretty much a ballad, quatrains were popular among ballads and the general theme of the poem, sorry, makes it a perfect "candidate" for a ballad, you just had to pay more attention on the words' sounds to make it a perfect ballad

Honestly, this is hard for me to read, my friend. It seems much like an emotionally abusive relationship. To want to change someone is never a good idea. It always ends up with the person trying to do the changing dealing with their own regret and shame. You have done a very good job at explaining this feeling.
