The Atomic Weight of Arrogance

Politicians, self-absorbed business tycoons

super star athletes and various other baboons

have this special quality which we all endear

thinking they are above us they make it perfectly clear

they're thoughts, needs and wants are second to none

they want these important issues known to everyone

czars, kings, dictators, potentates put them in a line

actors, music stars, the schoolyard bully even comes to mind

we have all known or seen them digitally displayed publicly

holding down with tightly clenched fist if we disagree

they have been endowed with preordained magic powers

sprinkled by their own private god's golden showers

they have always known more than mere mortal man

with more intelligence in one finger thats always been the plan

some seem confused that we don't all see them as our hero

last I checked the atomic weight of arrogance is still a whopping zero

lol - isn't it amazing how we can see people do absolutely nothing with a whole lot of everything? you can't blame these lives for what they become - they all get high on themselves and need purpose....being high on themselves is their drug....but we can't measure the substance.

Very well written and said, David. How true these words are.. and seems you didn't leave anyone out.. why are they so arrogant i always wonder.. they should be grateful we put them where they are in a manner of speaking.. like these lines:

So much truth in this piece. I think that those rich people are above us because they have money. In the world we live in today money is power. Everything centered around money, we could make the world a better place but it would cost to much so we'd rather watch it go to sh*t. Great poem though. :D

Well I must say Gomer, this is a wierd piece if I may say. But it is true.
Arrogance in a person is a big fat zero for sure. The arrogant and proud usually end up humbled at some point and time.
