I won't have to cry again

Keep a stiff upper lip and heart

 

I won't have to cry no more

If I never open my heart again

then I won't have to feel the pain

feel my tears like the falling rain

If I never love again

then I won't have to stay on guard

but will my heart turn too hard

If I never dream again

then I won't ever be left alone

will I no longer reach to be someone

If I never feel again

then I won't ever have to care

will I just sit here and stare

If nothing ever matters again

then no one can ever close my door

and I won't have to cry no more

It is said that the good ones always fall the hardest, hurt the most and take longer to heal, but yet somehow always find the courage to open there hearts again, with that nagging feeling in the back of our minds, to be careful, love is so complicated, but if you let one bad apple ruin it for the whole bunch, you might miss the perfect pick.. I love the words you express here, it has hope behind the pain.. Great write :)

Very touching as well, sad. When we're really hurt it is so tempting to close on love (and life), but those questions always come to mind that sometimes convinces us to keep on going. In the end, we just wish never to be hurt again, but what's worse ?

I can understand this so much. Although I have found that it is easy to harden your heart and close the doors to some friendships and even family members. But that one special love you cant, at least I cant. You see there is this one special love in my life and I have tried to harden my heart, guard it, close it. But I cant. This is one of those loves that will last forever no matter what. Whether we be together or not.
So I understand what your saying. But the crying no more thing, I havent mastered that yet. Cause I even cried reading this poem. I can't say "I wont have to cry any more", because I know I am and will.
