Flight of the Eagle

the eagle soars above so totally free

doesn't have the need to be attached

heart is open to every thought and idea

man does not seem to know this freedom

inwardly or outwardly

at least not on this earth

the mind understands this concept

and tries to build an outside world

invent a future liberation of the soul

can the mind be actually and totally free

free from dependance, fear, anxiety

conscious and unconscious

I have felt the eagle trying to escape

the boundries I have placed

my pleasures my pain my fears

the eagle is fleeing and taking flight

Ain't easy to fly with the eagles. When I was young I tries and I'm glad for taking chances and having no fear. I told my children. When you are young. Travel, learn and celebrate life. Most of us have a lot time to be old and wish for things we should of done and seen. I like the feel of this poem. Make me wish I could do some suicide boarding in one of the great seas. A outstanding poem.

My guess would be that one can only have that sort of freedom (totally free) only after death.

I think we can have peace at times, but not totally free from the things of this world.
