Used Rubber

I went to the store the other day,

I was about to open my mouth, and start to say,

but this lady behind the counter, beat me to the punch

can I help you please my kind sir,

I can get you what you need in a blur,

don't want to rush you, but I'm headed to lunch

I said yes, thank you, I could use your advice,

I don't have much money, so I'm concerned about price,

but I don't want to sacrifice security you see

I have a hot date, later on tonite,

with this new young lady and I wanna be right,

no risk of anything going wrong, I need to be free

what size she asks, how big do you want,

don't know says I, gonna put em on the front,

so the thickness is very important you see

nylon or fiberglass, which do you prefer,

you need to examine them close, make sure there's no burr,

don't want to take the chance, of a blowout nosiree

you're right about that, don't wanna go there,

I have too many other, girlfriends who care,

an accident would not be on my favorites list

we gotem in 15, 16 or 17 inch,

maybe 18 if you're in a pinch,

the cost can run up to 200 if you insist

whoa, that's too much, way to high,

I don't have that much, money to buy,

maybe I should consider, used ones instead

well suit yourself, they're cheaper for sure,

not quite as clean, they've lost their allure,

but you would be safe, remove concern from you head

well go ahead then, and give them a look,

do you have a picture, in your big book,

how long would it take to mount them dear miss

she said no problem for me, no none at all,

I'll have then on, as soon as there is a stall,

pop those babies on and seal with a kiss

thanks so much for all of your help,

I feel better now, as I let out a Yelp,

those new-used tires sure make me feel good

It was my pleasure, to help you out,

if you have a problem, just give me a shout,

I'm here for you pleasure, just knock on your wood

Yeah, funny stuff! I had a feeling something was coming (excuse the double entendre) as the poem progressed but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of it. This runs a lot like song, you know.. The metre and patter and the two-sided conversation seem to fit straight in to a melody.. Like Colorblind James or something like that. Reads real nice; flowing.

lol... I'm guilty, my mind was in the gutter when I saw the title of it, and I thought the picture was an image of irony. Another comical poem, I really laughed while I was reading this one.
