A corduroy jacket and a head full of dreams

A corduroy jacket and a head full of dreams

A Poem by Gomer LePoet
"

A dreamer whose dreams were never completely filled, but received what he needed

"

A corduroy jacket and a head full of dreams

When I came to London

this was all I owned

except for my guitar of course

the jacket would keep me warm

as would my dreams

I was looking for heaven

in the world of music

singing till my voice was hoarse

my fingers blistered

soaking in the young girls screams

was it fame that I wanted

or was it that I wanted to be wanted

I loathed the thought of remorse

if I didn't give it my all

it was one of my recurring themes

so I scrimped and saved

and practiced non stop my craft

I kept my mum as my source

of determination and grit

basking in her smiling beams

the corduroy jacket

has become thread bared

my dreams have run their course

I never became a superstar

but I got what I needed it seems
