Gogo's Gone ShoppingA Poem by gombeggarIt was such a fine day For her this whole day To go out and about to play It was Gogo’s shopping day
It was a long and thought out plan On which our Gogo ran To mend her heart back from all it’s lost parts To the wind she did go An amazing plan both high and low Her raven (is that true?) hair shined in the sun Her adventurous mystery tour had begun
Ahh, but you don’t know our Gogo Like we know our Gogo Think of an image and then splice it twice Is she of the orient or something more similar times thrice?
She changes she moves Fits in and out of all grooves When the plan came to mind And her spirit was full throttle into a new grind
So much to do, so much to see Be it clothes, be it food, be it lingerie or bamboo trees Cuban cigars to purse her lips Another lid for her head for tricks or kicks Some sandy colored rug to dawn on to her loft To start with a mere dozen of shoes first on then off
It was just a lovely day It was such a perfect day It was the only day Here, there, anyway
Gogo’s gone shopping To a place oh so lofty A stellar high rise Of all shopping made surprise In through the out door Up all the way to the top floor On every escalator A cappuccino time for the better, the latter or up the very next ladder
Why did Gogo go shopping? It was just the right time To go out and go wandering Amongst the shops and crowds and folks of like mind
There were pretzels and blouses And yard rakes to use Ice melt for the change of seasons Greeting cards to get for friends that may be blue Cheese puffs and marshmallows A brilliant tiara, perhaps maybe two
Music to play on disc like the old days But wait! There’s more… Gogo needs a fine diary book To catalogue her travels and her chores
Up then down the escalator twice A boutique then a shop Where they make only cheese Some folks go there a lot
Another smart suit today? Much like her school girl outfit And the colors, the choices and the wonders of will What’s a girl to do with only just one pick
Gogo just didn’t know If one day of stalking the mall would do So many choices, so many sites Never mind the sales, nor the credit card blues
There were things to see Things to buy Icy drinks to get So many choices to try
A wellspring of commerce A myriad of choice, per say A Gogo’s a plenty And the girl also wanted a new purse
A time to play A time to buy A need to explore It’s commerce, so why ask why?
