![]() The KitchilikaA Poem by gombeggarLarge as a grapefruit…where’s my spoon? A sacred plant? Clear as the moon And life just starting for me Or so they say Why do people say these things? Don’t they see me gravitate to a dance? Confused Have been for such a long, long time
Orange It’s all orange from this venue Orange like the color or the fruit? I do not know? For ya see… …I have never seen such a tree Like the one called The Kitchilika Tree…that I know of So I guess I dunno If it’s really orange, ya see
Ahh, but it so much more then a tree It seems at any rate to me The more I read the less I know Heard that in a song one day Or something to the like there of Anyway
It’s sweet fragrance A sign of connection, union A place where the carpets are set The beginnings of joining In that Eastern way of stead
The bearing of fruit Oh, husband and wife Time is immaterial An eternity, one long night Begotten from the tree of life
Strangers can have it Bypassers are welcome Wanderers stumble upon it Sometimes they stay There for the wanton of change
Is it a song of the tree leaves Long in the Mediterranean breeze? Something more as the bride and groom Grow fond of one another Until they are at ease? Or be it just standing songs of the loons
Is it the dowry? The families, they wait A fortunate union of two But only if they stay There’s an exchange of silver A blossoming tree A song in the wind, that sings out forever Or so that is the plan When someone swings a good rhyming song And all the notes are write not wrong The music begins When that song is sung And union has started or perhaps already begun
Under the Kitchilika tree, the song continues to be sung Oh, don't you see? Listen for the loons Before they take off in the breeze
