Sunny Day

Sunny Day

A Poem by Amanda Bokovoy
"

Just some prose that I had written after taking a walk with my mom and dog. Originally written July 30, 2007.

"

The sun shines brilliantly
without a cloud to block its rays today.
Dragonflies dart above the empty road
in time with the throaty call of a nearby bullfrog.
Beyond the trees, neighbours laugh,
enjoying the warm weather while it lasts,
their voices mingled with the calls of songbirds.
There are at least three different kinds of butterfly
fluttering amongst the dandelions and buttercups.
As the breeze picks up,
I take a deep beath and let it out in a sigh.
Summer is here; I hope it will last.

This is a very nice, descriptive piece of poetry. Well done

I like it. The images are simple but clear and the feelings are true and honest. Sometimes that's all we need, a breath of sunshine. Nice.
