A Thousand Wishes

A Thousand Wishes

A Poem by Amanda Bokovoy
"

A beautiful event in the sky, and a beautiful moment shared between father and daughter.

"

A thousand stars fall like tears,
lighting up the sky.

She laughs and twirls,
small hands outstretched for balance,
eyes shining under the moonlight.

"Look Daddy! Look at all the wishes!"
She points up, grinning with delight.

The middle-aged man sits quietly on a bench,
his bones tired and aching.

He just smiles...
