What No-body feels..

What No-body feels..

A Poem by Llysofar

Why would I think I am nobody?
That flew
through me
today,
like a knife.

Then I thought,
at least I'm not
ANY body,
and EVERY body
would be SUCH a crowd.

So let's say,
that I am SOME body
- someone out there,
no face or favour.

Then NO body
doesn't seem so bad!
I'm just a spirit
in the desert,
a tiny zephyr,
swirliing
the sand .

I especially love the last stanza. Simply stated yet profound poetry. Well done.

I often think circumstances at birth and the way one is raised..can make one feel like a no body..Or being picked on at school when you are small because you are a bit different that the others,,I was called brain and totally left out of things because of my report cards..It hurt but I did not give in to them and let my education Slide..Today these old chums want to be friends as I am published..I want to say I do not even remember you but God won't let me..God bless Valentine

I remember being told by a native elder, who was my friend, that sitting in a sweat lodge put him in touch with his own insignificance. I thought his words were profound. When I read your poem it made me think of my friend's words, and the importance of keeping them close.
We are all tiny zephyrs swirling in the sand, to know it is a gift.

WOW. i absolutely adore this poem. i personally like short, straight-to-the-point poems.
and this one speaks to me; it is how i feel at times.

great poem indeed.

I just lost my own replies, and don't know how it happened :( Thank you very much, Chloe, for your answer! I wanted to say that I can torture myself for hours trying to get the words to play in a different way. I suppose, at least i remember the images in my head, and some of the words too. I didn't used to let first drafts see the light of day, and now I think, I should get them out, so at least some of the feeling of frustration is dusted down a little, because the ideas are what matter to me, when I can't find the perfect words to describe things, though I get upset when I can't @@ Miles of smiles x

It is fine without rhyme to me.. it is like speaking your thoughts and I had never thought of a no body not seeming bad, but reading this is makes sense..
I love your last verse..

Then NO body
doesn't seem so bad!
I'm just a spirit
in the desert,
a tiny zephyr,
swirling
the sand .

that's what we all are..
I enjoyed this.

Chloe
