WolfA Poem by Wolf CubNothing more than a
whisper of the wind Carrying my cry for
help from the mountains As they are the
only ones that have lived Long enough to
understand the ways of the wolf As if appearing in
a dream, A stream of furry
friends emerged from the forest edge In just one heart
beat The lights from the
aura borealis Showed itself My senses pricked
up As the light shone
down Upon me, My father Papa Wolf
the alpha male Could now see me in
the dark He and the rest of
the pack came to help me As the lights went
and the moon shone brightly I was healed; the
gunshot wound was no more We are so misunderstood So many people hate
us And would kill us if they could Just for the fur we
have We don’t want to
hurt humans We want to be left
alone The prey we hunt
are sick or weak We don’t take the
strongest We care about the
pack and do not leave any behind We could live in
harmony if you would stop killing us for fun So please stop the
slaughter Of us wolves, we
mean no harm After all to look
in to the eyes of the wolf is to see yourself, Let’s hope you don’t
see a killer. © 2011 Wolf CubFeatured Review
