Fight or fright?

Fight or fright?

A Poem by GoldenLights

A murder of crows flew into my heart

To my surprise, out came a strawberry tart.

Resistance was useless, so I took a monstrous bite.

Go figure, I tasted poison and developed a fright.

There is only one cure for a sick and ghastly fright,

You might think a night of comedy and some ice cream will do just right.

Well it turns out you must travel to outer space,

Upon arrival, you unpack your bags and are introduced to an unfamiliar face.

Bear with me for a moment, for your mind shall be tested,

Imagine your worst nightmare, the one that could never be bested.

This unfamiliar face in which you have just accepted,

Takes the form of your nightmare and it still hasn’t rested.

Any sense of security is now obsolete and you face a true fright.

Thankfully you have a heart of gold and the soul of a knight.

Suddenly with eyes open, you are in the comforts of your home.

You have skeletons in your closet that you can battle alone.

Heed these final words for I am your conscience.

Take your fears and place them within a monstrance.

Nothing can harm you; you are strong and full of light.

The final decision will always be yours, Fight or Fright?
