The Last Tale: The Story of the True EndA Story by GoldCryptsProloguePrologue My name is Kaji Ida. I am 16 years old. I live in the town of Damascus, south of New Rasca in Syther. Our planet is called Gaia. The time is 14:21. The month is Champion’s Resource, or July (I will use Earth terms for the sake of reading). The day is the 14th. The year is 2015, or otherwise known as the day I became a pilot. And all of this started back in 2000. And I will tell you this story, all from the beginning, so you understand our pain… This all started in 2000, when the company of Titus decided to try and increase their power, not like they had enough. Titus was our government, was our marketplace, and was our world. You couldn’t walk, you couldn’t speak, you couldn’t breathe without them knowing you did it. If you wanted to buy a gallon of milk, which cost $7, you would have to pay the additional 35% tax. The costs were ridiculous, yet we had to purchase these items to survive. Yet, of course, Titus doesn’t care if we live or not. Isn’t every other major government like that? You live for the government, you fight for the government, you listen to the government, you die for the government. Well, let’s get to the part you guys were probably actually reading for. Some, “lifeforms” I’m going to say, suddenly arrived in our country of Syther. We called them “The Horsemen,” since they rode what looked like horses, and they just, killed, like the Four Horsemen from religious standpoints. At first, there was the first, which we called “Pestilence,” which caused major disease wherever she roamed. Pestilence walked the world for about 4 years. Titus decided to try and get rid of Pestilence and her lackies. They came up with giant robots, known as “Angels.” The Angels were made to protect us, to defend us, to die for us. Of course, Titus wouldn’t allow giant robots to roam without someone controlling them. And since Titus wasn’t so smart, they didn’t come up with a guidance system. They used certain young adults, whom we designate as “The Chosen.” The Chosen are given specific numbers, going up. Like “The Chosen First,” and “The Chosen Second,” and etcetera. With everyone in the area of Damascus, Trinity, and Faulding having these certain people. “The Chosen First” was one of my father’s friends, Shotei Ayuda. He was 16 when he piloted it, and has been piloting the First Angel since then. Shotei has been fighting Pestilence, with little to no progress, only just really defending Trinity. With Pestilence being held back at Trinity, in 2004, the next Horseman decided to show himself. The next to appear was Famine. Famine was killing off all livestock, all crops, just trying to starve the people out. Scientists found different kinds of remedies to add to the water supply and land to keep the food and water supply high. The only problem with that, Famine was constantly changing the disease to make sure we die. The other Chosen, the Chosen Second, was named Mayuri Sun. Famine and our Chosen Second were duking it out in Southern Syther, around a town named Katsucho. Katsucho was our only farming area, so it makes sense that Famine would attack there. With the scientists constantly at work and Mayuri holding back Famine’s forces, they were able to keep our produce high. The third and hopefully last Horseman to show up was War. As his name suggests, he is very violent, and attacks whenever he can, mostly by himself. He rarely sends minions, or he has a raid crew with him to help him attack the town of Nominence. Nominence is our capital other than New Rasca (yes, we have two capitals, it’s not really weird here.) Well, War needed an equal challenge, someone that would fight as much as he would, and as often as he would. And the Chosen Third was designated to a man named Chojen Hibiashi. Chojen was told to be the strongest man in Gaia. He could bend steel bars with his bare hands! No one in Gaia could even try that! But, as stereotypical, he wasn’t the smartest, constantly destroying his Angel, all for the sake of keeping War back. Very persistent with his cause, but very reckless. War has gotten close to Nominence, but he hasn’t touched it, yet. And all of this kept up, day in, day out. Until today… © 2021 GoldCryptsAuthor's Note
