Empty Town

Empty Town

A Poem by GoldCrypts
"

With the events currently going on, this is a very accurate representation of what fear and panic could lead to.

"
Empty town of nothing,
Think of all the people who walked,
Who ran, who laughed, who cried.
But now, fear, in fact, runs everything.

A lone stranger,
No guns, no supplies,
No fear,
Walks bridge on over.

Empty town of nothing,
No food, no water,
No people.
Not even the flowing banner.

The grocery stores, destroyed,
The mail offices, destroyed,
The public learning communities,
Destroyed.

The lone survivor, within this empty town,
Weeps.

How could this happen,
He asks aloud.
How could such noble people
Have this be allowed.

The lone stranger keeps going,
No end in sight.
Yet he knows,
He must keep up the fight.

He continues to walk,
Building after building destroyed.
For he believes this town
Can be remade.

As the lone survivor walks,
To the end of empty town,
He sees a little glimmer,
And turns around his mournful frown.

As his frown flips, all he sees is,
Black.
