Zombies of the 21st century. They are already among us.

People fear the zombies in the future when they’ll reign

But they have already appeared, in every human brain

Huddled over your devices, slaves to your machines

Humankind will fall and power cyber-kind will glean

Social media excites us more than seeing friends

We are in the era now where simple lives will end.

Controlled by the gadgets, we are all trained to be wired

Slowly man is being eaten by this growing fire

Future generations of this Earth don’t have a hope

Technology’s a noose around our necks, a mighty rope

Children have no prudence or discretion as they use

These mean machines that wire us, subject us to abuse

Take a look at people all around and you will see

A land that’s teeming with our race, slaves of technology

The internet, it promises false wishes, empty hopes

Turns our minds to mush and makes us idiotic dopes

Already we are hooked on it, there’s nothing more to do

But warn the people who still live, the very precious few

Zombies humankind’s become, brains rotted by this world

And the things it’s made that control every boy and girl

Who is left to save from madness that corrupts us all?

Fear encroaches on my heart, my people, we will fall.

Zombies humankind’s become, walk your happy line

Walk it till you drop to death, the line you cross is fine

Keep on stuffing minds with useless trash as it pollutes

Wit and curiosity, it steadily dilutes.

Soon enough, you’re gonna pay, as I have always known.

You will see me shake my head and say, “I told you so.”
