Waited UpA Story by Ayomide WayneAfter waiting for a long time, Kelvin decides to shoot his shot and now he awaits his reply.
My phone rested on my palm, my body laid on my bed. I awaited her reply. It’d been 2 hours now since her last ‘Lol’.
“Just 60 more seconds”, I whispered to the dark walls. My blinks slowed, sleep approached. She’d been far away, but now this seductress stood by my side. “Lay with me”, she breathed slightly as she sat on the bed. “Just another 60 seconds”, I breathed. Moments later, I laid the phone to rest by the lampstand, snuggling sleep. “Vroom Vroom”, my phone vibrated, revving up the engine of my soul. My phone’s screen lit up, my heart too. I swiftly swept sleep’s stench off my sheets. I smiled broadly. I’d been preparing for this night for so long, I crushed it. I shot my shot, crushed my crush. I picked up the phone, locked it, smiled again and then sat upright. I unlocked it, frantically moving my finger around the screen in my complicated lock pattern. “Crack!” my phone hit somewhere in the darkness. My phone’s screen was broken, my heart too. ‘KAMPANYANIZA DAHIL INTERNET KOTANIZ 50 MB’TAN AZ KALMISTIR. YENI INTERNET PAKETI ALMAR ICIN…’ neither cared for nor knew. I’d learned all of the five love languages, Turkish was not one of them. “Lay with me”, sleep spoke again. This time, I was silent. She seduced her way back into my bed as she’d done every night.
