A psalm like piece

A psalm like piece

A Poem by Jeremia
"

A Psalm like writing, written in a time a time where Jeremia was struggling to maintain hope and happiness. In a time of one of the greatest trials Jeremia ever faced.

"

I’m crushed to the core

My spirit is weakened

I cry out, but hear no reply

Oh Lord, when will you hear me

When will you answer my cry for help

When will you defend your child

Abba, my heart cries

Hear me and rescue me

Lift me out of this dark pit

I cry by night, I cry by morning

All day my heart burns

At night I toss and turn, unable to rest

I awake in agony and panic

Gripped tightly by dread

Unable to move

How long will you remain angry

How long will your wrath stay upon me

How long will you remain silent

I ask for mercy, hear no reply

I ask for deliverance, again nothing

I ask for action, yet see no movement

Oh Lord, I continue to cry out to you

Begging for deliverance

Waiting for you to act on my behalf

My King, I’m terrified

My heart is heavy

And my stomach is in knots

You are the great judge

Declare me innocent oh Lord

Vindicate me I plea

Rescue me from the jaws of my enemies

Lift me out of their grip

Deliver me safely from their oppression

You honestly do have a skill for poetry writing! This poem is so heartfelt and tragic, almost. It is quite long but it is truly fascinating. Well done.
