Let go and grab hold

1-1-13 to 4-7-13 This poem is kinda odd. I don't feel like it keep the same flow or meaning that I intended. Anyway, hope you like it, at least more than some of my others.

You think it is all a lie

Or maybe you just don’t care

Cause you are running after this new guy

But my love for you hasn’t changed

And never will

Despite the pain

Despite the trials

I still care for you

 

It makes no sense to me

Cuz this crap is all I see

More and more hopelessness

Yet I still care

Still wish I could help

Still wish I could dry your tears

Still wish I could embrace you

And tell you it will all be alright

I wish I could do something

 

Alas, I cannot

So, in prayer I offer you up

To the healer

To the author

To the true lover

Let his majesty work

He alone can fix this

He alone can help you through

He alone can perfectly cherish you

 

He, so eager to embrace you

So eager to help you through

So eager to lavish his love

He desires you to cling to him

He wants your heart

He wants to heal you

He wants to see you strong and beautiful

As he intended for you long ago

 

So,

Let go and let him

 

You do not have to fear

You do not have to doubt

He is worthy

He is willing and able

He is waiting

            Let go and grab hold

I actually really enjoyed this piece, despite your harsh judgement of it. I think it is very endearing and true, and I assume this emotion comes from something either you've experienced or, if nothing else, can relate to. Good job!

Thank you. :) And yes, this was something I wrote about my ex. It is hard for me to let go and give her up completely. So, just as much as I want to be able to put her in the hands of Christ/God, I also want her to want that. I want her to cling to the Father. I want her to grow and be filled with everything he has for her. So ya, the emotion comes from experience. Sorry for the long rant. Thank you very much tho. :)

Lol yeah exactly! Same goes for my artwork. I have a huge peice of my art displayed in my school library and everyone loves it and then theres me "why did they put that up? Its ugly. " or "have you seen that ugly piece hanging in the library" lol!
