Your bleeding heart

Your bleeding heart

A Poem by Robert Gordon
"

This is a parody of E E Cummings' "I carry your heart with me" (sorry E E)

"

I carry your heart with me dearest;

I carry it in a box..

I'm never without it darling;

It rests on a bed of socks..

Our love, my sweet, was fated,

but our love, my pet, was true..

And I’ve never found a heart so big,

as the one that was once in you..

The Deepest Secret that nobody knows,

'Neath roots 'n buds, t'is scary -

Wonder of Wonders, they wonder where..

the rest of you is buried..

HAHA! This is very amusing, I was afraid it would not be worthy of ee cummings poem (which I love), but it IS!!

Haha, I like this. I thought I was reading a poem from a card to begin with but then the last verse made me laugh. Nicely done.

In my own personal dimension I discovered this to be charming. Your words are compelling and something I can take to heart and mold into image after image of artistic lore.
