The Girl with the Technicolour Eyes

The Girl with the Technicolour Eyes

A Poem by Elizabeth

There's blue in the skies, and blue in your eyes.
You plaster on a smile and try not to be sad,
try to fool the world, so they've all been had.
But I know you better, and you can't fool me.
And I want to tell you, let you know I'm here,
to show you just how much you mean to me.

You've blondes and blacks, browns and blues.
Violets and reds, in all different hues.
Hair like the rainbow, changing all the while,
brilliance in blondes, bright as your smile.
Hazel hair, for amber eyes,
Within those eys, a warming guise.
A rare sprig of green, so vibrantly you,
murks to the sea, a bright crystal blue.
Waxing and waning, like your tender, little, heart;
Drifting together, and drifting apart.
Pretty pink hair, for palest pink lips
pursing a smile, or pursing a frown,
lets turn this technicolour world upside-down!
Lets walk the beach in our bare feet,
lets lie on the couch, and no longer weep.
Ignore the world as it passes you by,
there's too much to live for, no time to cry.

I'll paint this world in all different hues,
every colour for every mood.
I'd give you the world, if happiness, you would find,
a different place, for every state of mind.
Italy perhaps, or a passionate France,
when your red world is love, and one finds romance.
Myabe Hamburg or Magdeburg in old Germany,
when red turns from love to a state so angry.
A harsh tongue for a harsher mood,
a changing world for a changing you.
When you're green with growth, or green with envy,
to the old Emerald Isle, Lady Luck will send thee.
Confucius say "China good for confused mind,
Beijing, Hong Kong; fast paced you find!"
When red blends to greens to bright blonde shades,
those little yellow ducks, appear and fade.

And when your technicolour world, is black and blue,
beaten and bruised,
come back to me, or I'll find you.
I'd give you this world to match your technicolour eyes,
coloured for you, as seen through my eyes.
If you'll give me your hand, I'll hold you forever,
in a world just for you, I'd let you go, never
