A story told in rhyming couplets

A story told in rhyming couplets

A Poem by Blue_Jazberry
"

So, I was experimenting with rhyming couplets, now you get this insanity.

"
Flames licking at the crumbling walls
nothing escapes these ashen halls

Scrambling to escape, for a chance to flee
Remembering the needles off the tree

A reckless wish of things to end
Us too, to death, the boy did send

He only wished for himself a home
A place that he would never know

The boy had fled his only shelter
Embracing death as he held her

The torture he could take no more
He broke, his thoughts were torn

To gather supplies that he would need
The flames of his rage for him to feed

Pine needles kindle a burning rage
The boy had finally escaped his cage

Holding the only thing he ever loved,
Embracing her as the floor seeped with blood

A scream escapes to pierce no ears
No person to hear this strangled fear

A feathery tingle of icy breath
you cannot cheat the claws of death
