I tend to trust people and believe them to be good and honest until they prove otherwise. That position has cost me a few times, of course. I have loaned tools that never came back. Oh, and there was that 500 dollars I loaned a cousin who never paid me back. (nor have I seen or heard from him since) Material things like that don't bother me so much, but a spouse or other loved one who betrays trust and affection, that tears me to pieces. A loyal, true friend is valuable beyond gold.
