THE PUPPY NO ONE WANTEDA Poem by GlendaKThere's always one.
He's what they call 'the runt'
Whomever 'they' are this time. Strange what we'll do for fun Even if it's targeted writing a rhyme. Walking by my choice hobby store, I peeked into the fogged window And saw "pure love" so I swore I'd ask the clerk to keep him til Wednesday. On the way home, I spotted a doghouse, It was painted bright red, a perfect shade for Boy! Bought a wagon to bring it to show my spouse Who was, at the same time buying him a toy. So we went together to pick him up Wednesday, All excited, we ran, both of us, to the store, There, we found only a big empty dog cage; They said someone else wanted him enough to pay more.
