Verse 36: Men, women & Children

A Chapter by Glen Yumang Manese

Men, women & Children

Great minds must stop for a moment.

Think about the world around him.

Words of those silent needs heard.

Writing is a virtue to the gift of God.

Not all is beautiful to the light of wisdom.

Not everything is ugly to uphold darkness.

An old man no longer knows his name.

Elderly lady sits to stare at the void.

Baby in a womb declares right to live.

An infant cries no longer to hunger.

Child is quenching the thirst of water.

Unimaginable is everyday ritual of circumstances.

Neglect reason for which words are a definition.

Voice speaks, but there is emptiness of space.

Their tongues cut out to say nothing.

Fade into the lather of daily routine.

I say among you called men, women and children.

Rise now, the words are here and written.

I hold accountable at this moment.

Reaching out is the length of my hand to you.

Go ahead and speak wisdom of past times.

I may not know anymore would you listen to me.

I have a lot on my mind and stories to tell.

Look through my eyes and relive the story.

I will be the pupil and you can be teacher.

There is so much to share and little time.

I fought battles in life to reach this last testament.

Do my best to be a better person.

Path of one's life is a crooked line of dead-ends.

Struggle is the ultimate test of mortal life.

Just sit here and look at the garden of flowers.

I use to plant them every spring as a hobby.

Thinking I had greenest of thumb.

I know now a human heart was the truest test.

Seek out green pastures no longer lives life.

I miss those flowers very much now.

Let me hold your hand to be one of my children.

I regret each day giving-in to the fear of night.

Lovely names like Sam and Samantha.

I would have been justifiable.

I can hear voices of children in my sleep.

Forgive all and me rest now.

I learn to value every one of them.

I would not let the moment escape me.

Cry of an empty stomach.

Thirst of water is nourishing all of them.

We are not silent, but only forgotten to the world.

Close your eyes now and go back.

You give a piece of self-devotion.

To be is a lasting memory.

A good writer in here introduced to me Beat poets and i've read some of their poems. Your style in this piece has similarity with their writings.
