Mirror

A Poem by Glarthir

I can see the man in the mirror
He's the man I aspire to be.
False fate, wrong roads
Have led me to this
Empty existence.

Every masterpiece starts with a single stroke
So can I make this life worth living?
Let me restore my faith,
In myself and my action.
They fall and crumble away,
Not with haste but gently
Almost with beauty.

When I stare back into my own eyes,
They're empty like a cup
An empty cup can't fill another.
I've learned that my imperfection
Compose my composure.
